Mary Chesnut drawing

Here are a couple of images from my latest drawing for my Civil War series. The subject is MAry Chesnut who wrote a diary during the Civil War and it was published after her death. It is considered a work of art itself- poetic and personal as she chronicled what she experienced around her. I have not personally read it yet, but became interested in drawing her as she is a very well known Civil War personality and it was great to include an image of a woman as well! I do have another image of a woman who dressed as a man and was a soldier - she is on my list as well to draw in the future. Mary is clearly sensitive and intelligent and I hope you enjoy this drawing of her.
