Drummer Boy

This is my most recent drawing in my Civil War series. I love the image , probably shot by Matthew Brady, of this young man holding this drum... standing tall and proud. Often the boys who were too young to be given guns to fight, would participate in battle by being the drummer. The young man was brave and proud. Did he survive battle? Did he live and prosper after the ravages of war? I feel his heart beating strong and his gift to our land sure. This drawing is 60" x 48"....ballpoint pen on Arches paper. I hope you like it!
